BIG MEETING WITH NORTH KOREA MAY BRING END OF OFFICIAL WAR

By DELL ARTHUR

It is only going to be a few weeks from now before President Trump meet with “Little Rocket Man.” This historical first is making a lot of folks uneasy—especially across the isles of both the Upper House and the Congress. Some fear that Trump will make some extraordinary gaff and Kim Jong-un, who is known within his realm as the First Chairman of the Communist North, will hop all over the opportunity and make hay of it. If anyone believes this to be true then they need to go back reading comic books.

If anyone will be prepared for this meeting it will be President Donald Trump. He is noted for never going into any negotiation without being fully briefed and holding all the winning cards in hand. Trump is no fool in spite what Senator Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi think. He recognizes the past history of North Korea’s blatant lies and manipulation of the western powers. He also knows that every President following the truce with North Korea has failed in dealing with un’s father Kim Jong-el, also known as “Eternal Chairman of the National Defense Commission,” or “Beloved Leader.” These failures have resulted in North Korea becoming a nuclear bomb maker and threatening all its neighbors including Japan and the United States itself. The only problem “little rocket man” is confronted with is delivery.

And it is the question of delivery of a nuclear device President Trump is concerned about. He has made it plain that if North Korea was to launch such a device North Korea would become the biggest hole in the world! So, using true statesmanship he has adroitly pushed Kim into a position of comply or else—and by else Trump means a renewal of the war between the two Korea’s. That stopped as a result of an armistice that was signed July 27, 1953 calling for a cease fire to end to the conflict. The only thing that really happened was the shooting ended.

Since that time North Korea, with the help of China and Russia, continues unabated to enslave the North Korean people while they carry on to build up their military and weapons. Where was the United States while all this was going on all these years since the armistice? Apparently sucking their thumbs!

This all happened because Democrat President Harry Truman wouldn’t take the advice of Five Star General Douglas Macarthur. After North Korea invaded what is now known as South Korea June 1950, the surprise nearly drove American forces into the sea. General Macarthur, who was given leadership of the United Nation Forces that were quickly assembled, began the arduous march to reclaim the lost ground. And battle they did! Building up strength and through heroic courage of the American forces who fought for every inch of ground, the communists were slowly pushed back. Then on September 15, 1950, Macarthur pulled off one of the most brilliant military surprise strikes of the war by an amphibious landing of Marines on the west coast of Korea at Inchon. Some 75,000 American fighters landed on the beaches and quickly overtook the enemy army. This maneuver resulted to cut off and stranding North Korean troops in the south and liberating Seoul.

But Macarthur wasn’t done. He wanted to continue the battle all the way up to Korea’s northern border with China but rather than back his plan Truman fired him! And so the war continued. Following this the war seemed to be coming to an end but then the Chinese got into the battle saving the North Korean communists. And then Russia entered the conflict supplying the Chinese with Mig fighters and pilots to fly them. All this continued until a “truce” was signed.

Since that time North Korea has continued to rattle their swards and demanding assistance in the form of agriculture goods, money (lots and lots of it), and concessions that most reasonable people would think ludicrous. But leave it to American politicians. Rather than confront the Communists we gave in to them for fear of starting a war with China. As time went by North Korea became more entrenched and more powerful to the determent of her neighbors.

This unhappy episode has continued to the present when a new sheriff came on the scene—Donald Trump!

But now everything is in play. The old way of doing business has come to an end and we now have someone in charge who isn’t going to give away the farm. Trump has made it plain that if North Korea tries to pull off the same old game he is willing to walk away from any deal with them. Again the liberals bite their nails and whine that this isn’t the way to handle tyrants as Kim. But in reflection it seems that the President’s plan is working well—too well it seems for his opponents who are continuing to scream for his impeachment. It appears that those folks who are continuing to be obstructionists are more in favor of hating Trump than loving America.

All this seems to not bother the President. He is now considering where the upcoming talks with Kim will take place. He seems to favor the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea but nothing has yet been decided. Wherever the meeting will take place you can bet your bottom dollar that Trump will walk away with exactly what he wants in favor of the United States.

Remember the surprise General Macarthur came up with when he invaded Inchon? It’s the belief by many that President Trump can come up with a similar plan and you know what happened when the Marines hit the beaches!
